Structural review of NHMRC’s grant program

Embargoed until: Publicly released:

ONLINE BRIEFING 15:00 AEST Today. The CEO of the NHMRC will be available at a question and answer session today on their current grant program structural review. The review has been established on the back of increasing grant application numbers and falling success rates placing an unsustainable burden on applicants and peer reviewers, ultimately giving them less time for research. There are also increasing concerns that researchers are becoming discouraged, particularly early and mid-career researchers, and that competition is driving conservatism in proposals and assessment.

Organisation/s: National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC)
