The Israel-Gaza war is responsible for 33.2 million tonnes of carbon emissions, say international researchers. They found that the open conflict likely created the equivalent of 1.3 million tonnes of CO2, but when accounting for the pre- and post-conflict activities - such as defensive fences and reconstruction - that number blows out to be comparable to the annual emissions of 7.6 million petrol-burning cars.

The carbon footprint of the Israel-Gaza conflict is comparable to the annual emissions of 7.6 million gasoline cars, and most of these emissions come from the reconstruction of destroyed infrastructure.
