Those who continue to test positive for COVID-19 after recovering from the virus do not continue to spread it, according to a study of US basketball players and staff during the 2020 National Basketball Association season. 36 study participants within the NBA persistently tested positive despite being asymptomatic. Researchers monitored these participants for up to 100 days as they participated in the competition, and detected zero instances of transmission of the virus to others.
