High doses of zinc and/or vitamin C do not help COVID-19 patients recover more quickly than standard care, according to international researchers. Their trial included 214 COVID-19 patients. Some received vitamin C supplements, some received zinc supplements, some received both, and some received no supplements. There was no difference in the time taken for any of the patients to overcome COVID-19 symptoms, the experts say.
