Swiss researchers suggest that our preschool kids are just as good at recognising emotions through others' masks as they are without them. As most preschool teachers are required to wear masks at work, the researchers surveyed 276 kids from nine day care centres about their ability to detect joy, anger or sadness with or without masks. The team says, as opposed to previous research, the kids were able to recognise emotions with a negligible difference between masks on or off.
