Glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) - such as Ozempic and Wegovy - are now famous for their weight loss capabilities, but a new review suggests that the rebound weight people gain after stopping the medication is real, though you might not regain all of the weight back. The team looked into 48 studies on GLP-1RAs, and they say that, a year after stopping the meds, most people had regained 60% of the weight they lost. After that, people's regained weight tended to plateau at 75.3% of what they had lost. The researchers suggest that, while the rebound weight is certainly apparent, there might still be a partial weight-loss benefit that persists in the long term.
