Adults over 45 years might be at a higher risk of heart issues if they have had a respiratory syncytial virus(RSV) infection in the last year, say Danish researchers who looked into the heart health of close to 17,500 people. They found that in the year following an RSV infection, there were an extra 4.69 heart-related events per 100 people; numbers that are comparable to heart issues following a flu infection.
