Adolescents with depression, ADHD, social problems, anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders are at a higher risk of developing a gaming disorder, according to international researchers, who surveyed over 4,000 adolescents in the US. The study found that young people with higher baseline levels of mental health disorders had an increased risk of developing a gaming disorder 1 year later. The study found no association between gaming disorders and the development or worsening of mental health disorders.
