Biography

Professor Daniel Angus FQA is Professor of Digital Communication and Director of the Digital Media Research Centre at Queensland University of Technology. He is also a Chief Investigator in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society and a lead researcher in the Australian Internet Observatory, a national research infrastructure for studying digital platforms and online information environments. His research focuses on artificial intelligence, digital media, misinformation, and new methods for observing and analysing online platforms. He has contributed to computer and social science research for more than 20 years, developing computational approaches to understand the impacts of digital technologies on society. Daniel regularly contributes expert commentary to media, industry, and government on issues relating to social media, artificial intelligence, digital governance, and platform transparency.
