Associate Professor Ali Yavari is the Director of the 6G Research and Innovation Laboratory and an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. His research focuses on next-generation wireless communications, the Internet of Things (IoT), Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, digital twins, data analytics, and cyber-physical systems, with applications in smart manufacturing, renewable energy, healthcare, and sustainable infrastructure.He received his PhD from RMIT University and an MSc in Communication Systems from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. Prior to joining Swinburne, he held research positions at CSIRO’s Data61 and KTH. As lead or chief investigator, he has delivered numerous industry- and government-funded research projects in collaboration with global partners including Ericsson, Telstra, Siemens, Optus, and CSIRO. His research excellence has been recognised through several prestigious awards, including the Victoria Fellowship in Physical Sciences and Swinburne’s Vice-Chancellor’s Research Excellence Award, reflecting his commitment to translating cutting-edge research into real-world impact.
