Biography

Dr Rhys Parry is a molecular virologist and ARC DECRA Fellow at The University of Queensland. His research focuses on emerging RNA viruses, including mosquito-borne viruses such as West Nile virus and Japanese encephalitis virus, as well as on the development of next-generation RNA vaccines and therapeutics.

He combines laboratory virology with genomics and bioinformatics to understand how viruses evolve, spread and adapt to new hosts. His work also explores how modified nucleotides can improve RNA vaccine design and pandemic preparedness.

Dr Parry has published widely in international journals and regularly comments on infectious disease and vaccine science.
