Biography

Dr Somayeh Ba Akhlagh is a dedicated researcher with a passion for inclusive education and the promotion of cultural diversity in early childhood education. She has extensive experience in the field and shares her expertise with pre-service and in-service teachers, supporting them to create equitable and inclusive learning environments. Her commitment to social justice is reflected in several scholarly publications focused on equity and diversity in education.
Dr Ba Akhlagh’s impact extends beyond academia. She regularly conducts professional development workshops for early childhood educators at both national and international levels. Her work bridges theory and practice, contributing meaningfully to academic discourse and the practical realities of early childhood teaching.
She holds a PhD in Philosophy (Early Childhood Education) from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and two master’s degrees—one in Psychology from an overseas university and another in Early Childhood Teaching from the University of Sydney. She has received seven scholarship awards from various Australian institutions in recognition of her excellence in teaching and research. Dr Ba Akhlagh also serves as a member of the Expert Advisory Group for the Preschool Outcomes Measure with the Australian Department of Education.
