A simulation model for small workplaces shows that workers who are open about testing for COVID-19 and their test results translate into improved workplace productivity and minimised infections, compared to those employees who keep such information to themselves. The UK research suggests that to safely open after a lockdown requires the adoption of new ways of working and behaviours by both employers and employees. The author team proposes recommendations on how governments, employers, and employees can incentivise such beneficial behaviours.
