Which gender is most likely to drink themselves into a bout of gout?

Chinese researchers have looked into biobank data from over 400,000 people and found drinking more booze was associated with a higher risk of gout - a painful form of arthritis characterised by severe pain, redness and tenderness in joints - but more so for men than women. Additionally, drinking beer or cider was associated with a higher risk of gout, compared to other drinks.
