A group of Māori and Pacific scientists have put together advice to help Māori and Pacific postgraduate students find their way and succeed in STEM fields. The authors said that it was important to create this ‘survival guide’ in their own words because STEM departments in universities can still be unwelcoming for Māori and Pacific people. They reminded new students that “this is absolutely where you belong” and listed strategies, including finding the right people, being authentic to yourself, and setting boundaries.
