Australian scientists say time-restricted eating, skipping meals, and getting more of your calories early in the day may all help you shed those pesky extra kilos. They brought together and re-analysed the data from 29 previous clinical trials of these dietary interventions, including a total of 2,485 people.  They found all three methods led to people losing more weight than people provided with standard care and/or nutritional advice.  However, people on the interventions did not lose a lot of extra weight, the studies were inconsistent in their methods, and some of the studies may have been biased, the authors caution. They say further research including bigger groups of people and using standardised interventions and longer follow-up are needed to determine how effective these methods of weight loss really are.
