Substantial number of Aussie psychologists are recommending complementary medicine

Publicly released:

Substantial numbers of psychologists in Australia recommend complementary medicine products and/or refer clients to complementary medicine practitioners, according to Australian research. The study found that over 90% of psychologists surveyed recommend complementary medicine products and/or practices with the most common type being mind/body approaches such as hypnotherapy, meditation, and yoga. The researchers say policy and education development focusing upon this area of grassroots psychology practice may help ensure the care provided by all psychologists remains evidence-based, safe and optimal for their clients.
