Soft-soled shoes could change how a toddler walks

Toddlers walk slightly differently while wearing soft-soled shoes, according to an Aussie study. Researchers monitored 14 toddlers walking barefoot compared to walking in soft-soled shoes. They found small but significant reductions in range of movement in their hips and knees and a change in ankle position, but It is not yet known if these differences can impact a child's movement in the long term.
