Waves are projected to get taller along the west and south coasts of Aotearoa, and shorter across the north and east coasts, according to new research. The study authors simulated ocean and climate conditions until 2100, with their models showing wave directions are also projected to change around the country - with a counterclockwise rotation along the west coast, and a clockwise shift along the east.
