Recurrent premmie babies may be more likely if baby number one was full term

Women who have given birth to a baby at full term followed by a preterm second baby, may be at a high risk of having another preterm bub if they go on to have a third child, according to Australian and international research.  The research found that having a full-term baby first increased the chances of premature birth reoccurring in a third child (if the second child was premmie). The risk of premature birth reoccurring was higher in this group than in women who only had preterm babies before, a finding that was unexpected.
