Māori social housing tenants have described how important it is to have communal space, social activities, and community leadership to feel like their home was really uplifting their wellbeing. Researchers interviewed 12 Māori social housing tenants in Ōtautahi Christchurch, as part of a year-long research project. The researchers say the key message from the research is that social housing has the potential to do much more than simply house those in need.
