Rivers in Fiji are critical for their bull shark's life cycle, according to international researchers who tagged 31 bull sharks with tracking devices in Fiji between 2016 and 2018. Fourteen bull sharks were detected in four rivers during the season in which bull sharks are known to give birth to their young, indicating that Fiji's rivers are critical for the completion of the bull shark's life cycle. The researchers say that protective measures for the species critical habitats should be implemented.
