Post-shot side effects common - but serious reactions sparse

Publicly released:

Early ‘real world’ data from nearly 20,000 Americans suggests many people have mild post-vaccine adverse effects like fatigue or headache, but serious effects are scarce. People were more likely to experience negative effects after their second dose of a COVID-19 shot, with the Moderna vaccine, and if they were younger or female. This research also found a strong link between previous COVID-19 infection and adverse effects - including more severe. Allergic reaction or anaphylaxis was reported in just 0.2% of all participants after full vaccination.
