Pelvic floor workouts could help with incontinence after having a baby

A pelvic floor workout program, designed for women to practice during pregnancy and after birth, could help women reduce their risk of stress urinary incontinence after having a baby, according to Chinese research. The study evaluated the program, called PEFLOW, in around 700 women, with around half undergoing the training program from around 28 weeks of gestation. Those who took part in the program had a lower incidence of stress urinary incontinence than those in the control group 6 weeks after giving birth (8.7% vs 13.9%).
