An international survey, including Australians, has found that around 57% of people are supportive of the use of AI in healthcare facilities, but those attitudes varied significantly based on social demographics and how familiar people were with the technology. People also preferred explainable AI systems and doctor-led decision-making, which the authors say indicates a reinforcement in the importance of maintaining human oversight in AI-assisted health care.
