Over 40% of Aussie cancer patients say their treatment has been disrupted by COVID-19

A survey of Australian cancer patients has found that around 40 per cent say their cancer care was disrupted in some way by the COVID-19 pandemic. A survey of healthcare workers also found a similar percentage of reporting delays in delivering cancer care. The surveys also found that the reorganisation of cancer care increased the psychological and practical burden on carers, with hospital visitation restrictions and appointment changes reducing their ability to provide essential support.
