Other infections rise after easing of COVID-19 restrictions

The easing of COVID-19 restrictions in Israel has been linked to a rise in respiratory and gastrointestinal infections, with kids under three the hardest hit.  The study found that in the weeks after COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, non–COVID-19 respiratory illnesses significantly increased across all ages, even though it was late spring and after the usual timing of winter colds and flu. Kids under three also had a rise in gastro infections and were the group in which infections rose fastest.
