Nearly one in six Aussies over the age of 14 uses tobacco, cannabis or both, according to a survey of more than 20,000 people. The researchers looked at the rates of tobacco and cannabis use over the past 12 months and looked for patterns in the type of people who used them. They say 2.4% of respondents used both tobacco and cannabis, 5.5% used cannabis alone, 8% used tobacco alone and 84% used neither. Men, younger people, people experiencing psychological distress, illicit drug users and those at risk of alcohol use disorder were all more likely to be in the group that used both tobacco and cannabis.
