NEWS BRIEFING: CSIRO's Bushfire Best Practice Guide

Publicly released:
Australia; VIC

*BRIEFING RECORDING NOW AVAILABLE* With bushfire season fast approaching, Australia’s national science agency CSIRO has developed a guide to help people understand the bushfire risk to their homes and surrounds, and how to build their resilience. The guide is for those interested in understanding the bushfire risk to their location, and also provides information for home builders and renovators on bushfire regulations. It also provides general advice for residents of bushfire-prone areas across Australia, with further information relevant to Victorian residents, noting regulatory differences across various jurisdictions. The guide was created with The University of Melbourne and the Victorian Country Fire Authority, and funded through the National Disaster Resilience Grant Scheme. Tune into the briefing to hear from the researchers and end-users how the guide will help as we prepare for this year’s bushfire season.
