Forestry management around the world, including New Zealand, has become increasingly productive for timber over the last 150 years. But alongside this success, NZ’s forests (including its native ones) have also been impacted negatively from introduced pests, diseases, and a changing climate. Such transitions are “urgently needed” for New Zealand, they write.
