A global research team suggests freeing up 15 times more storage space for personal protective equipment (PPE) like masks and gloves. The team applied game theory to model better ways of managing PPE supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their results, based on UK data, suggest that earlier stockpiling and increasing storage capacities can ease the pressure on PPE supply chains, and leave healthcare facilities better prepared for future waves of COVID-19 infections.
