Coffee may reduce the risk of developing endometrial cancer but it’s best to ditch the decaf, according to a recent analysis of 24 studies involving almost 700,000 women. Results showed that people with the highest coffee consumption reduced their risk by 29% when compared to those with the lowest intake. Coffee was particularly effective in mitigating the risk of endometrial cancer for women who had a higher BMI, but smoking and hormone replacement therapy appeared to counteract the preventative effects. While previous studies have shown that boiling coffee enhances some of its positive health effects, brewing methods did not appear to impact the link between consumption and lower risk of endometrial cancer.
