US researchers say that having an abundance of ultra-processed foods in the home may lead to kids having their attention more tuned in to junk foods. In the small study, the researchers found that kids who could see more ultra-processed foods available to them at home have a higher tendency to turn their attention towards these ultra-processed foods. The researchers say that modifying the food available in the home to reduce this attentional bias toward ultra-processed foods could be a way to create healthier habits before excess weight gain occurs.
