Fewer people who were doubled dosed with the Moderna COVID-19 appear to contract the virus compared to those vaccinated with Pfizer, according to research out of Qatar. Researchers matched about 200,000 Moderna recipients with the same number of Pfizer recipients to track COVID-19 breakthrough infections. 878 COVID-19 infections were recorded in the Moderna cohort, with three hospitalised with severe COVID-19 but no deaths or ICU admissions. 1,262 breakthrough infections were recorded in the Pfizer cohort, with seven hospitalisations, no ICU admissions and one death.
