Māori and Pasifika aren’t more reluctant to get a Covid jab, study finds

Publicly released:
New Zealand

In a first-of-its-kind online survey from March 2021, being Māori or Pacific wasn’t independently linked with feeling hesitant about the COVID-19 vaccine. Young Kiwis and those with lower education were less likely to say they would take the vaccine, however. To increase vaccine uptake among Māori and Pacific peoples, the authors say the focus should be on combating known health inequities in accessing healthcare.
