Long acting opioid dependence treatments are preferred by patients

Patients being treated for opioid dependencies prefer longer-acting versions of the drug buprenorphine that can be given as weekly or monthly injections to other forms that need to be taken every day, according to Australian research. The clinical trial of 119 participants, reported that treatment satisfaction was higher in the group receiving weekly or monthly buprenorphine than in
the group receiving daily buprenorphine at six months.
