Children who return to school within two days of sustaining a concussion are likely to experience fewer symptoms two weeks after their concussion, according to international experts. The team investigated the concussion severity and persistence of symptoms in a group of 1630 children, and looked at how quickly they returned to school. They say in children aged 8 years or older, returning earlier was associated with fewer symptoms, which they say may be due to the benefits of socialisation and returning to a stable sleep schedule.
