Kids didn't swap smoking for screens in the 2010s

Major declines in teen smoking came about at a similar time to the explosion of low-cost smartphones from 2012-2018, however new research has found no link between increased internet use and smoking for 14-15 year-olds. The researchers say they did find that teens who used social media were more likely to smoke, a finding observed in previous studies.
