In a small world-first study, French researchers report that mRNA vaccination was linked with a lower number of adolescent ‘multisystem inflammatory syndrome’ cases. Of the 33 teens admitted to all French ICUs with this complication of COVID-19 in September and October 2021, none had been fully vaccinated and 7 had received one dose. Most of these seven became infected with COVID-19 before or soon after the vaccine shot - prior to a full immune response. The team says this link should also be examined for younger kids.
