Australian researchers who surveyed the use of cannabis among Aussie homes say that, while a low percentage, people who have been prescribed medicinal cannabis are also using the drug recreationally. The team found 8.6% of respondents were using cannabis for recreation only, 1% were using cannabis medicinally only, and 1.9% were using it for both. They found the respondents who obtained their cannabis via prescription were more likely to use it with medical-only motives compared to dual-use, and those people who used it more frequently were more likely to have dual-use motives, compared to recreational-only users.
