A study of more than 23 million people living in the Nordic Region found myocarditis or pericarditis occurred in between four and seven cases per 100,000 vaccine recipients after receiving two Pfizer jabs, and between nine and 28 cases per 100,000 recipients after two Moderna jabs. The risk of myocarditis was highest among young males (aged 16-24 years) after the second dose, the scientists say. This risk should be balanced against the benefits of protecting against severe COVID-19, the researchers conclude.
