Facemasks do not impair kids' breathing

Wearing surgical face masks for 30 minutes does not impair breathing or cause respiratory distress in kids and toddlers, according to Italian research. The study of 47 kids, some as young as 10 months old, found no changes in respiratory measures or clinical signs of respiratory distress when kids wore masks for half an hour. The findings suggest kids could be encouraged to mask up to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
