Diabetes and weight loss drug tirzepatide, sold under the name Mounjaro, could also help treat sleep apnoea, according to Australian and international research. A year of treatment with the drug, which works in a similar way to Ozempic, was found to reduce sleep apnoea symptoms, increase weight loss, and improve sleep in people with moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnoea compared to placebo.
