With only around 45% of the eligible Australian population having had four or more doses of COVID-19 vaccines, it seems people may be getting tired of the repeated requests to get vaccinated. Now, international research has provided some evidence about the best ways to overcome this vaccine fatigue. The researchers found that vaccine campaigns should be tailored based on people's vaccination status. For the unvaccinated, messages about community spirit had a positive effect, while for those who have had one or two doses, positive incentives, such as cash rewards or vouchers were effective. Those who have had three doses are more likely to respond to new variant vaccines being offered.
