Broad first, then narrow: tips for engaging in science innovation projects

A new study has examined how a science team managed their search activities by engaging with external people, as part of its work to help tackle New Zealand’s big high-tech challenges. The authors say a key message for science teams is to avoid narrowing engagement too early, while also not continuing a wide search for too long - as that can hamper innovation progress.
