As Australia begins to loosen recent COVID-19 restrictions, questions still remain about how we move forward from the pandemic. Will a vaccine ever be developed, why has it impacted adults and children so differently, can you be infected twice and what are "immunity passports" and will we need them to travel again?

Ask these questions and more by joining us for our new style of background briefing - ask an expert. There will be no specific presentations just an open forum in which you can have your questions directly answered by two immunologists.

How the session will run:

The session will be moderated and you will be able to submit your questions via the briefing platform throughout the event. All questions will be read out by a host. The briefing will be recorded and available following the event. If you can't attend live but still wish to submit questions please email them through to the AusSMC to be included.

Speakers:

  • Associate Professor Kirsten Perrett is Co-Group Leader of the Population Allergy Research Group and Clinician Scientist, Melbourne Children's Trial Centre at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute. She is also Consultant Paediatrician in the Department of Allergy and Immunology, Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne
  • Professor Stuart Tangye is Leader of the Immunity & Inflammation Theme and Head of the Immunology & Immunodeficiency Lab at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. He is also a Professor (Conjoint) at St Vincent's Clinical School, Faculty of Medicine, UNSW Sydney
