Eight primary schools across Australia are set to be selected for an international trial aimed at improving the physical skills of children aged 8-12. The Movement Oriented Games Based Assessment (MOGBA) is a program aimed at assessing and intervening to make sure children are competent in physical activity. The researchers say children who are competent in movement are more likely to be active, and therefore less likely to develop obesity. The MOGBA trial will be delivered through two half-day workshops, followed by a nine-week program.
