Just over 1 in 10 risky drinking teens surveyed say they have caused verbal, physical or property harm during their most recent risky drinking occasion, according to Australian research. The study data suggest that the larger the quantity young heavy drinkers reported drinking, the more likely they were to report harming others. The study also found that young people were more likely to report harming others in social settings if they had been exposed to physical punishment in their childhood.
