Arm and clavicle fractures are the most common injuries for riders of e-scooters, according to a study out of Finland which also found that there was almost a two per cent chance of injured riders requiring admittance to the emergency department. The team conducted an observational study of 331 patients who were treated for e-scooter related injuries in Finland, and analysed data from the two e-scooter companies operating in the area of the research. Their study revealed that the most common injuries were to the distal radius and the clavicle, and there was a 1.8 per cent chance of an injury occurring on an e-scooter that would require admittance to the ED. They also found that 44 per cent of the injuries that required treatment occurred between midnight and six am.
