Are we making pregnant women anxious by telling them how to sleep?

‘Safe sleep’ messages, which encourage pregnant women to avoid sleeping in certain positions, are generally perceived as informative rather than anxiety-inducing, Australian research has found. However, for a subset of pregnant women, these messages may make them feel more anxious, especially women who feel a greater sense of personal influence over their babies health.
